Pasmo card - パスモカード

miércoles 2 de noviembre de 2011

One of the first things I recommend when you arrive Tokyo, is to buy this card ! This would save you more than one headache :).Buying a PASMO (Or Suica, which has the same function) you will not have to buy a ticket every time that you use public transport! Only by passing the card to the tarjet lector, et voilá, the dirty work is done ^ _ ~. Is a great help to have this card if you want to avoid this:

In the Tokyo subway are loooot of people, and is a mess if you have to stop to get the ticket in the machines every time you move, especially if you're not clear about how it works Ú_Ù.

The Pasmo is a prepaid card, which costs 500 yen (later, if you do not need you would get the money back if you return the card). It is very convenient since you can use it in the metro, bus, some train lines and also accepted in conbinis and several vending machines! For me, it is essential;)

Is easy to recharge on the same machine where you take the subway tickets , and many have a English language option button, but actually is very intuitive:)

Apparently, PASMO also offers security services, it is a service that records the children's cards and when they use their PASMO in a train station / metro, parents receive a notification via mobile phone or PC.

Anyway, having a PASMO or Suica simplify to get around Tokyo ^_~ and if you want a list of metro lines, trains and buses that accept PASMO this Wikipedia link will help you.

If you have further questions you can consult the official English PASMO site.
